The staff of Avera St. Anthony's Hospital
Nutrition Services Department provide top quality nourishment for
patients, guests, and employees.
A Dietary Manager, four cooks, four dietary aides, a
cook's helper and a Dietary Consultant staff the Nutrition Services Department.
The Dining Room is open twenty-four hours per day with
meals served at the following times:
- Breakfast: 7:30 - 8:00 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:30 - 1:00 p.m.
- Dinner: 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Medical Nutrition Therapy is provided for all patients in
an in-patient or out-patient status. Nutrition Therapy is provided for
conditions diagnosed or referred by your physician and for the following:

Diabetic care
-
Weight loss
-
Cholesterol control
-
Cardiac care
-
Prenatal care
-
Pediatric care
-
Nutrition support
Approximately 2200 meals are served each month to patients
hospitalized on an in-patient or out-patient status, and to their guests and
hospital employees.
In January 2000 Dietary moved to their new kitchen and
dining area. In addition to a larger meal preparation area, the space
provides for new cooling and food storage areas. Adjacent to the main
hospital lobby, the cafeteria provides a welcome and comfortable area for guests
and staff.
