Avera St. Anthony’s Chemotherapy Department is located in the new hospital addition. The surroundings are comfortable, tastefully decorated and provide the patient with a homey atmosphere. 

The Chemotherapy Department was established in l995 and over the years, has served nineteen different physicians.  We have served over 150 patients doing over 2000 visits.  The department is staffed by two Registered Nurses who care for patients of all ages. 

Barb Slaba, R.N. has been a Registered Nurse for 33 years and is Director of Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital Chemotherapy Department. She is a graduate of Presentation Heights College, Aberdeen, S.D.

We have the following modalities: IV, IM, SC or bladder instillation.

We administer chemotherapy 8-4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Times other than those listed can be arranged if another time would be more convenient for the patient.
